Colin trained with Rayner Essex, a medium-sized firm of Chartered Accountants, based in St Albans. On qualifying in 1985 he joined the Corporate Tax department of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells’ London office where he specialised in the provision of corporation tax services to large and multi-national clients.
His clients were largely in the commercial sector in industries such as hotels, manufacturing, tobacco, leisure, distribution and retail. Colin left Deloittes (then PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in 1992 to form CCH & Co.
Jane trained in the audit department of Deloitte, Haskins & Sells’ London office qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. At that time she transferred to the firm’s Corporate Tax department.
In 1992 she left to join the tax department of The Thomson Corporation, the newspaper, travel and publishing group. In 1995 Jane became a partner in CCH & Co.
